Once upon a time, not too long ago, in fact, just last week, there was a marvellous creature called INDOMINUS REX.
Indominus Rex, loved to go to parties. He was a great dancer who could get a whole crowd jumping and jamming to the beat.
He would play his favourite song again and again and again, on repeat.
When Indominus Rex sang, EVERYONE sang along.
This was his favourite thing… well apart from hotdogs.
If he could get his hands on a hot dog, he was a happy Indominus Rex.
Unfortunately this would not happen very often.
He would tell his mama, ‘mama I would like a hotdog’.
His mama would tell him, no Indominus Rex, ‘hotdogs are for special occasions only’.
‘You know that’ said mama.
‘I do know that’ replied Indominus Rex.
Indominus Rex dreamed of every possible special occasion, in the hope of hot dogs.
He dreamed of the wedding of his mama and papa
But there were no hotdogs at the wedding.
He dreamed of his brother’s birthday party.
But there were no hotdogs at that birthday party.
He wondered ‘what kind of special occasion has hotdogs?’
‘That is a very good question’ said his mama.
Special occasions came and went.
There was Christmas with a Christmas tree and presents.
There was New Year with New Year celebrations and fireworks.
These occasions were special but, there were NO HOTDOGS.
Indominus Rex’s birthday was coming up.
He was very excited because he would get to sing his favourite songs.
He was very excited because he would also get to dance to his favourite songs.
He told his mama about the music he would like and who he would like to invite.
His mama listened very carefully and made a list.
His papa who had been listening to all of this asked ‘so, what are we going to eat on this special occasion? What about hamburgers?’
Indominus Rex’s eyes lit up…
‘No…. not hamburgers…. my birthday is the SPECIAL OCCASION FOR HOTDOGS!!!’
‘hotdogs it is’ said mama and added it to her list.
On the day of Indominus Rex’s birthday
He got to sing and dance to his favourite songs.
And… he got to eat hotodgs.
Indominus Rex declared that his birthday was the special occasion for hotdogs.
Everyone cheered and laughed and ate hotdogs.
