Times are tough right now for a lot of people. One of the things that we must hang onto, for inspiration, to keep us going, is the drive that cultural pioneers, artists, writers, singers, musicians, scientists, have, and that is to lead a unique path expressed through creative endeavours: a song, a book, a poem, a scientific discovery, producing works that illuminate life for the rest of us and generations to come. Often, at the time, these works are produced against a mainstream cultural tide that doesn’t recognise them, tries to exploit them or puts a spotlight on aspects of their lives that are really nobody’s business.
In the end, these sensitive souls, so often, get taken down by personal, corporate and societal demons or a combination of all three.
Anyway – this one’s for all those out there, known and unknown, swimming against the tide, who are just doing their own creative thing and will keep connecting with people long after their time has come and gone. And, if you know someone like that, i hope you can find a way to share your appreciation of them so they know that their independent and creative spirit is truly valued.
